Description
Build your own rugged and heavy duty rack for your firewood by using our 10 piece, USA made, 1/8″ thick steel brackets! (You will have to buy the wood and lag bolts at your local home improvement store). Note that the first picture is an actual customer picture and shows two racks, but this listing is for 14 brackets, which is enough to build one rack, not two.
These are not flimsy/bendable metal. We make them using 1/8″ thick steel – a single corner bracket weighs just over 2 pounds – – strong enough to take what you throw at it (or what you throw it at!), but not so heavy where they are hard to work with.
This listing is for a complete 14 piece set of brackets made to fit 4 x 4 Posts. You will need to buy 6 pieces of 4×4 lumber and 1/2” lag bolts from your local hardware store. We pre-drilled and used 2” long lags for ours, but you can use longer if you like. The lags are not included with our bracket set. Just pick them up where you get your posts.
There is an inside corner with “ears” to hold the horizontal pieces. We installed those first on each post, followed by the outside corners. We then installed the short sides ours are 12”, which makes the bottom 19” deep. Then we installed the long pieces and tightened each with an impact. Next, we installed the supports mid-way on the bottom. Finally, we loaded it up!
Four extra flat brackets are included so you can add a cross piece to the top/sides like in the first picture.
Also please note that these ship as raw, unpainted steel. You can either paint them the color of your choice, finish them with a clear coat, or allow to achieve a natural rust patina over time. We are going to let ours rust.
***Powder Coated Brackets: If ordering brackets in the black powder coat, please allow an additional 1-2 days for shipping & delivery.***
